Peter M. Murphy, a well-known government law attorney, has joined the Tressler LLP Bolingbrook office as Senior Counsel. He has an extensive background in representing local government bodies such as cities and villages, school districts and park districts, and in all aspects of daily operations as well as litigation. Peter will be a member of Tressler’s Local Government Practice Group.

Prior to joining Tressler, Peter was in private practice, managing his own law firm since 1991. Previously, Peter was the City Attorney for Blue Island, Village Attorney for Posen and Senior Assistant City Attorney for Naperville. Peter has also practiced as an Assistant State’s Attorney and as an Associate Attorney with Hinshaw & Culbertson. Peter is highly experienced in an array of municipal issues, such as police tort liability defense, government tort immunity, contract review, zoning, telecommunications agreements, demolition actions, employment disputes, property damage, labor negotiations, ordinance violations, and “sunshine law” compliance.
Peter earned his B.A. from Purdue University Northwest and J.D. from Northern Illinois University.
